Being on the US Programme, and ultimately studying in the US, are the two single most life-changing experiences I have had so far. Once a timid teenager, they have given me a platform to grow into the ambitious, curious and confident woman that I am today.
The best thing I’ve learned from the US Programme is that there is no limit to what you can achieve. Being part of a network of students - all from working class backgrounds - and seeing all the things they’ve achieved is a truly amazing feeling.
The US style of education really let me understand exactly who I am and what I want. I was lucky enough to spend three summers in entirely different areas; first at a Public Defenders Office in New Orleans, then completing research in South East Asia, and finally working in a non-profit in Washington DC.
Within just one year, my life changed. Being part of the US programme has been by far my greatest experience. I achieved my long-sought dream of attending a US university with the Programme's help.
